Fast Broadband put ahead of Universal Coverage
It has been much interesting to hear a recently made suggestion that the Labour government’s proposal of a universal broadband coverage across the United Kingdom should be scrapped with a view to including efforts to boost the broadband internet connectionspeeds.
The suggestion was put forth by a broadband market expert researching the future broadband trends in the United Kingdom, Peter Bazalgette. Bazalgette serves as the non-executive director at Myvideo Rights.com, a syndication company.
According to Bazalgette, the broadband industry as well as the businesses in the United Kingdom could deeply benefit from an emphasis laid on superfast next generation broadband internet services. He also took pain to outline a conflict that existed that made clear that both superfast fibre optic broadband services and the universal broadband access could not be introduced through fibre optic cables at the same time.
The expert added that he wished to see the current government apply more stress on the next generation superfast fibre broadband services and less on their pet universal broadband internet service, which was all about a 2Mbps minimum speed broadband service to every household in the country.
Bazalgette concluded saying that he thought fast broadband internet service deserved the first priority for its obviously going to emerge as an economy stimulus.
