Essex Residents called to Consider the Planet this Christmas
The residents of Essex were being encouraged this Christmas to spare some time and mind for the planet by recycling the waste and wrapping paper. It is perceived that reducing and reusing paper after recycling can considerable cut down deforestation, which in its turn can be an impetus for global warming, if left unchecked.
It is well known that the most amount of waste material like discarded food, wrapping paper and even unwanted gifts were usually generated in the festive season. However, the Essex residents have already struck a point by saving around 4 ½ sacks of waste not recycled. Alongside, the county council is also quiet content that the hmes will carry on with this effort during the Christmas season.
According to the cabinet member of Environment and Waste, Councillor Tracey Chapman, although the festive season was all about giving and receiving gifts and service, they wanted the residents to be reminded that it did not have to be to the environment’s detriment. She added that there also existed numerous simple measures to cut down the impact people had on the environment all through the year and it was not at all difficult at Christmas.
Meanwhile, the team for Waste and Reduction have recognised the locations where the residents could cut down the waste to significantly help the environment.
Another sector that can contribute to the pro-environment drive is the broadband internetsector of the country. It has been already envisaged by m,any experts in the related fields that an advanced universal broadband programme that refers to providing superfast next generation fibre optic broadband service to every homes, businesses and educational institutions and students could considerably cut down the use of paper that in its turn augurs well for the fight against deforestation.
