EE plans to launch 5G with OnePlus 5G Phone in 2019

A part of BT and UK’s one of the mobile operators – EE has recently informed that they aim to be the first operator to offer future OnePlus 5G Smartphone in the year 2019 and as a part of that they will have a R&D partnership with the mobile handset producer.

Recently during last month, the operator informed of the names of 16 first UK cities to get benefited from their future 5G mobile & wireless home broadband network commercial roll-out and it will be expected to start in the end of next year. Initially they will focus to cover the busiest locations such as London, Belfast, Edinburgh, Cardiff, etc.

At the time of announcement, the operator told that they will tie up with multiple smartphone partners for launching their 5G services and there was no much details at the time. The current announcement revealed that they will have in partnership with OnePlus who will be their first partner.

CEO of BT’s Consumer Division – Marc Allera said that both EE & OnePlus have a vision of giving best connectivity experience in latest 5G to their customers and working on cutting edge technology. Bringing 5G to their network will lead to increase in reliability, speed and make customers stay connected and having aim to connect them to 4G/ 5G or Wi-Fi full time.

CEO and founder of OnePlus – Pete Lau said that OnePlus which was started 5 years ago, is the only best choice to make a 5G smartphone. Their customers always want to try out new things and now they are ready to use their next generation 5G. They have put their full efforts since 2016 to bring 5G.

The new phone will have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 chip (7nm size). It is made with 8 core design with an Adreno 640 graphics processor & the Snapdragon X24 LTE + Snapdragon X50 5G modem inside.
