EE launched Single Smart Number Technology to use multiple Smart Devices

EE, one of the largest mobile operators in the UK and a part of BT Group, provides services of mobile & fixed line communications.

EE has claimed to be the first to launch Smart Number Technology in the UK last week. The technology helps their customers to make and get calls and messages with the same number in multiple devices without extra cost. This enables the customers to use other smart devices such as tablets, smart watches, laptops for making & receiving calls and messages even though the customer does not have smartphone in his hands.

The service has been launched as a part of EE’s strategy to keep their customers stay connected through any of their smart devices to give the best of its mobile and broadband technology through their converged services across the UK. Even if a customer forgets his phone or mobile with no/low battery, still he can get connected with using other connected devices with the same number.

The new service will work on Wifi Calling Feature. By connecting the number with 5 other devices which are connected with internet through wifi or mobile networks. The main thing is that the primary device should have an EE connection, but others need not. Then the calls will be done with voice allowance.

EE’s MD of Marketing – Max Taylor said that EE have done this service as their mission to give customers with innovative new technologies which help them to stay connected. The new technology is an excellent example to prove that how EE is helping its customers to keep connected with even using their other devices which can be accessable from anywhere.

The new service will be available to new and existing customers of EE’s Pay monthly mobile plans and as of now available only to Apple devices such as iPads, iPhones, MacBooks & Apple Watch. Other Android devices will be given later with this feature. The customers should have iOS 11.3 on iPhone 6 or later version for smartphones, iOS 10 or later version for iPads and OS X EI Capitan or later version for Macs.
