EE and Vodafone ranked as best mobile internet networks in UK

According to data from a study by Tutela Technologies, EE and Vodafone were found to be the best networks for mobile internet. The study ranked the providers EE, Vodafone, O2 and Three as per the speeds found on their mobile broadband service across 3G and 4G signals.

EE had the fastest 4G signal and for overall Mobile Experience it was also ranked best. The study recorded (on EE’s network) the average download speed over 4G to be 18,072 kbps, which is nearly double the average speed recorded on Three, which was 9,518 kbps. EE also had the fastest upload speeds on 4G, with 7,522 kbps as average.

Owing to low latency, Vodafone came on top of the 3G category, although download speeds of EE were were faster. The provider came second on the 4G service, ranked above both O2 and Three. However Three was put at the bottom of all three categories. Overall EE came on top, followed by Vodafone and O2.

The study was conducted from 1st July to 3oth September this year, with collected data averaged from Android smartphones involving more than 13,400 unique devices over a 91 day period. The Sony Xperia XZ handset was found to be fastest in the data category, with an average download speed of 12.61Mbps on 4G tech.
