Cityfibre deals with Prysmian Group to support its full fibre rollout

Cityfibre has recently informed that they have entered into a contract of strategic supplier agreement with Prysmian Group. The supplier will support Cityfibre’s gigabit capable FTTP broadband network roll out by supplying various range of connectivity solutions and cables.
Already Cityfibre has entered into supplier agreements with various companies such as Hexatronic and Emtelle and the latest agreement will help them in getting supply of optical cable for both underground and aerial applications in the first 2 years of the contract.

The above is forming part of their £2.5bn investment in Gigabit capable full fibre network deployment that aims to reach around 1m premises of phase 1 in 12 UK cities/towns by 2021 and then 5m premises in 37 cities/towns by 2025.

Director of Supply Chain at CityFibre – James Thomas said that their choice of supplier is very critical to them and they focus on forming a supply chain that can provide them with high quality materials for current and future requirements. They feel happy to deal with Prysmian Group who is a reputed fibre manufacturer as a strategic supplier to support their network rollout.

Telecom Business Director at Prysmian UK – Carlos Lopez said that they feel delighted to have been choosen by Cityfibre as their supply partner at the current situation of fibre market. Their experience of working with customers in network roll out around the world means that they have best of expertise and products enabling them to bring great contribution towards satisfying the goals of CityFibre in the UK.
