Christmas Lights slows down Broadband Speeds by 25%

Christmas LightsVery much in line to the prediction made by the leading fixed-line broadband provider operating in the United Kingdom , TalkTalk, the festive lights were found to have reduced the broadband internet access speeds of the customers in the country by up to twenty five per cent.

The internet service provider popular for its cheap business broadband deals and broadband and phone bundle packages had estimated that the interference from Christmas lights could affect thousands of broadband internet consumers in the United Kingdom.

TalkTalk had said on its blog that domestic lighting and wiring interference was a major issue across the broadband industry, and during this festive season Christmas lights tend to exacerbate it, although this might sound a bit silly.

The broadband provider further advised the customers to keep festive lights as farther from their computer and broadband router as possible, and to purchase lighting only from reputable brands with the CE mark.

TalkTalk concluded saying that buying an iPlate could help the customers badgered by electrical interference considerably by removing the bell wire in telephone copper wire sockets that often act as electrical interference conductors. The iPlate was marketed mainly as a gadget for gaining optimal internet access speed.
