Cheap Superfast Fibre Broadband unviled by BT
BT, the prominent fixed-broadband service provider operating in the United Kingdom has placed in its showcase a superfast fibre optic broadband internet connection of 40Mbps for a price that is less than GBP 20 per month. To be more precise, the major provider of fibre optic broadband service in the country has priced its broadband package of up to 40Mbps access speeds at GBP 19.99 per month.
It is greatly interesting as well to see BT highlighting its Infinity broadband package as GBP 7.47 cheaper per month than its main rival Virgin Media’s main attraction – the fibre optic broadband package of up to 50Mbps access speeds.
Furthermore, BT Infinity broadband package that offers speeds of up to 40Mbps, also offers up to 10Mbps upload speeds, which according to the prominent internet service provider, is six fold faster than the broadband service of Virgin Media that offers only upload speeds of up to 1.5Mbps. Nevertheless, it is also worth mentioning here that Virgin Media was recently trialling a broadband connection that would offer download speeds of up to 200Mbps and upload speed of 10Mbps on its cable network.
Meanwhile, BT Retail’s chief executive officer Gavin Peterson claimed that BT Infinity broadband package gave its customers the reliability and the capacity required by them at a great price that could be afforded by them. He added that they were committed to rolling out high speed broadband services across the United Kingdom.
It is believed that the superfast next generation fibre optic broadband services of BT would be availed to 4 million households and businesses across the United Kingdom by the end of 2010 December.
