According to sources, the broadband service provider based in Rochdale would be offering fibre optic broadband connections to both business and residential customers from September this year.

The precise UK broadband connection speeds provided by the internet service provider would range between 15Mbps and 40Mbps. The upload speeds offered by the firm range between 2Mbps and 10Mbps.

However, the project is understood to be quite much in its infant stage with Zen Internet only undertaking a fibre optic service trial for a chosen few customers and its own employees, currently.

Meanwhile, Zen Internet has also set up a dedicated web page for promoting the new broadband initiative of its, which would accommodate the details of the subscribers of Zen that wish to be a part of the commercial fibre optic trial.

It is also noteworthy that the internet service provider has repudiated the charge of its implementing the Fair Usage Policy with a view to cap data download limits on its fresh service.

According to Zen Internet’s product development head Andrew Saunders, the internet service provider has surprised the broadband market by offering super-fast fibre-to-the-cabinet broadband services at such low prices.

The pricing by BT that brough forth the ire of the internet service providers include the price of BT Infinity Option One that offers upload speeds of up to 2Mbps and download speeds of up to 40Mbps. It is priced at just GBP 19.99 on an eighteen month contract with a usage allowance of 20GB.

BT packs its Infinity Option Two for users seeking unlimited WiFi broadband minutes, upload speeds of up to 10Mbps, free connection costs and advanced security features at a price of GBP 24.99 a month.

Saunders revealed to PC Pro that BT has been quite aggressive with its broadband internet retail prices, which could make it potentially difficult for them to be as aggressive on their broadband product pricing.

Zen Internet, an internet service provider operating in the United Kingdom has been chosen by Which? Magazine, as the best broadband provider, in its survey based on customer satisfaction. The consumer magazine, according to the Telegraph, has rated Zen Internet as the internet service provider who gave the best customer service in every one of the past four years.

The broadband supplier procured five out of five marks for reliability, speed, and customer service. The newspaper also reported that the internet service provider also secured three out of five marks in the value for money context, in spite of being relatively costlier than the deals of other broadband providers of the UK.

Apart from the best results, the total results of the survey also encourage many broadband suppliers of the country, such as Be Broadband, O2 and Utility Warehouse. All these ISPs fared reasonably well by scoring more than 80 per cent on average. However, the survey has been a disappointment for some of the main UK ISPs such as BT, Virgin Media, TalkTalk and Tiscali, with all these big names scoring below sixty percent on average.

The survey results were cited by the Telegraph in its report saying that for most of the members of Which?, the remarkable customer service, willingness to travel the extra mile to resolve issues, and reliability were worth paying more for. It also praised Zen Internet for the ISP’s not trying to tie its customers with longer contract. Zen is renowned for its one month broadband deals.

Zen Internet was launched in the United Kingdom in 1995. Besides, the North West Business of the year award, the broadband provider has received numerous awards over the recent years.

Zen Internet, an independent broadband provider became the latest ISP that announced the introduction of quicker services with download speeds up to 20Mbps. This summer, they offer a plan with no extra cost up to 1Mbps speeds for both their new and old customers. The Zen Internet backed by the ADSL 2+ technology, is planning to connect their services with BT’s new Century Network.

The Zen internet is planning to launch the new services by this summer. The new services, which will be known as “like for like with their current products, but will effect no change in the price. Customers can also expect to obtain higher speeds. The Zen internet has started their plan by communicating with their customers.

Zen Internet’s head of product management and marketing Mr. Andrew Saunders of Zen Internet has claimed that they have been working on this project since 2008. Their concluding phase of trials and test on these new faster broadband services are expected to conclude in this summer. Therefore, they are planning to start the freh project with their existing customers without any price hike by late summer.

He also added that their services were very clear and they were going to continue with the current monthly contracts, as they wanted their customers to enjoy the benefits from the new services. He added that it will be made available at any time of the day with out any hindrance. The ISP also assures fast service to their new customers based on areas, where faster services are not yet available at the same price. Zen Internet also claims that it will not induce traffic shaping policies like rival ISPs, to restrict bandwidth usage.

The speed the customers receive, whatsoever will depend upon how far are they from the local BT exchange. An average estimation shows that the download speeds will be between 9Mbps to 13Mbps, with some already getting over 20Mbps. Zen’s network will plainly include its connections to BT’s local exchange. This policy is expected to result in the ISP gaining a substantial network expansion.
