According to the claims of a broadband market expert, people living in the cities should predominantly go for a Virgin Media fibre optic broadband internet package, since such broadband packages floated by leading broadband providers in the United Kingdom such as O2 and Virgin Media more suited those areas enjoying better internet access levels.

This view has been given by the editor of Broadband UK, one of the leading broadband comparison websites, Edd Dawson. He said that the broadband users that lived in built-up areas tended to be households with high broadband internet usage that required not only the kind of high speeds provided by such ISPs, but also unlimited broadband services.

Nevertheless, Dawson added that the consumers of broadband internet in the United Kingdom needed to consider their requirements and location before signing up for broadband deal, since there were a great number of broadband packages available currently in the market.

Dawson also explained that if the customer was living in a very rural area, it could be better for the person to go for a broadband package very much like the one showcased by Plusnet, since it was the reliability of the service that was the priority of such a customer, and further ISPs such as Plusnet were very much active in those areas where O2 or Virgin Media have not yet rolled out service.

It is also worth mentioning here that a recently carried out research by Broadband UK had revealed that the United Kingdom’s average internet connection speed at the end of 2009 was 4.478Mbps.

The leading internet service providing company had earlier in December 2009, launched a special broadband internet offer of free service for the customers that signed up for the ISP’s service before the start of the new year.

The offer was, as a matter of fact, availed to subscribers that entered a code recommended by the firm, when signing up for any one of its broadband packages. The code was friendsandfamily.

However the package has expired on January 31, 2009. The deal was all about the Value service of Plusnet that comes with a price tag of GBP 5.99 per month and offers a data download allowance of 10GB per month. The access speed offered by the package is 8Mbps, and the deal packs 24/7 customer back up besides a free wireless router.

Peter Jackson, the spokesman of Plusnet had in last December warned the broadband internet consumers that Christmas tree illuminations could potentially inflict an adverse effect on home broadband connections.
