It is refreshing news for the customers of O2 that all customers of O2 pay-as-you-go, pay monthly or mobile broadband deals will be availed with the fresh promotion, in addition to the discounts already offered by the broadband provider to its existing mobile phone users.

The Home Premium package of O2 broadband service priced at GBP 15 per month offers a download speed of 20Mbps, upload speed of 1.3Mbps and 200 free texts per month. For the mobile users of O2 the price for the home broadband package will be just GBP 10.

Meanwhile, the Home Pro package showcased by O2 that comes with a price tag of GBP 22.50 per month offers the customers download speeds of up to 20Mbps and upload speed of 2.5 Mbps. Furthermore, 500 free texts are offered per month with this package that is priced just GBP 17.50 per month for the mobile users of O2. Apart from all these, O2 offers a dedicated customer service number for the subscribers of this package.

Both the packages that come with a minimum contract period of  twelve months also includes unlimited broadband offer usage, free UK support of 24/7, wireless router modem (WiFi), security software of McAfee and free installation.

The video that was uploaded on Tuesday contains an explanation on the Long Term Evolution technology by Rob Joyce, the radio evolution man of O2. Even though LTE is a part of the 3G technology, it s referred to generally as 4G.

Although it was pointed out by Joyce that LTE could hit download speeds of up to 150Mbps thoretically, it was almost a bathos as the demo itself could only show speeds of just around 8Mbps. Both the plans include unlimited WiFi.

It is also worth noting that all the free laptop deals of O2 pack a Happiness Guarantee of 30 days that refer to free O2 techie access, in case the customer is not fully satisfied.

It has been revealed by broadband comparison website, Broadband Genie that it had sold the products of the broadband providing firm owned by Telefonica, very strongly in the year 2009.

The broadband comparison website further revealed that other internet service  providers operating in the United Kingdom that enjoyed equally tremendous sales during last year included bundle providers such as Virgin Media and BT. Plusnet and the exclusive broadband internet service of the Post Office were two more that had great sales during the period.

The mobile broadband providing company owned by Telefonica has with its latest move outlined its plans to boost its telecommunication services portfolio. O2 broadband providers was as a matter of fact, lagging a bit as a few other mobile phone service providers including Virgin Media, Vodafone, Orange and Carphone Warehouse (owns TalkTalk and Talkmobile), were already offering such a package.

O2 have reportedly priced its Evening and Weekend call package, its cheapest at GBP 9.50 per month. This call package includes free unlimited UK home calls on weekends and evenings. A second call package of the provider dubbed the Anytime call package offers anytime phone calls to homes in the United Kingdom, besides to international landline calls to twenty countries.

However, the flip side of the offer is that it applies only to those customers already on one of O2′s broadband packages. This means that to access this offer a person needs to be the existing customer of an O2 broadband package, and the cheapest deal would be a broadband and home phone bundle package including a 12 month contract and unlimited data usage priced GBP 17 a month.

O2′s marketing director for the United Kingdom Sally Cowdry claimed that this was the most significant launch for them in the home space, from the point they had entered the broadband internet market, and was part of their strategy to grow beyond mobile to a prominent connectivity brand.
