A recently concluded research on the mobile broadband coverage in the United Kingdom, carried out by the telecommunications regulator of the United Kingdom – Ofcom has revealed that 87 per cent of the population of the country enjoyed access to mobile broadband.

The study carried out by Ofcom has confidentally announced the fact that mobile broadband services have emerged greatly popular among casual as well as business consumers. The regulator seemed keen to find out the market’s gaps while carrying out the research on the mobile broadband coverage.

The research results showed that almost nine out of every ten in the country were able to enjoy mobile broadband access as well as benefit from flexibility and freedom of mobile broadband.

The details regarding the areas of the country that were found lagging behind in the context of sufficient access to mobile broadband services were also revealed by the study. It was shocking to know that many areas were severely beset by lack of reception.

It was also revealed by the results that more or less 12 per cent of business consumers were seldom happy with their mobile broadband service’s geographical availability. This can be put up in contrast against just 5 per cent of business users, who were not happy with their fixed-line broadband service.

An entrepreneur is a person who organizes and manages the business of an enterprise. An online entrepreneur is someone who does this on the web, through internet medium.

The success of customer communities has revealed that internet is a good media to grow business networking which helps in augmenting business development. There are a number of online networking sites which offer unprecedented ways for entrepreneurs to identify and connect with potential partners. It helps in generating e-business like Amazon and e-Bay through various forms: B2B (Business to Business), C2C (Customer to Customer), and B2C (Business to Customer). Apart from that it also serves many purposes right from job-hunting, recruiting, knowledge exchange, marketing, and sales, to core business development by way of strategic alliances, joint ventures and channel sales.

Every internet entrepreneur needs a wireless broadband internet connection to keep abreast with the ever changing sales figures that sometimes need instantaneous actions. Irrespective of the people who have their business established in the internet industry or non-internet one, the way of selling goods through online can sometimes even push up the surplus profit go that extra mile. Indeed, a peddler who hawks things on an auction site or a vendor who sells via online is bound to feel the need of mobile broadband in a situation while he is on the move and the emergency sales call requires immediate monitoring and controlling of the stock or the fluctuating sales figures. Besides, an important business presentation that needs to be prepared within a fairly lesser time, laptop with mobile internet will come to save there.

So, how one can connect to 24×7 online system anywhere around the world? To start with, 3G is a wireless network that came into the market around 2001 and has been preferred by most telecom companies since. An updated version of 3G with a greater speed (three to four times of 3G) called 4G is still in the sublime stage though thought to be soon to make an entry. Someone can also purchase mobile cards by shelling around $25 to $70. This easy to set up connection requires a dongle (a security or copy protection device for commercial microcomputer programs that must be connected to an I/O port of the computer while the program is run) within which the mobile broadband SIM is inserted to get it plugged into a USB port on the laptop. The dongle can also act like an external device with all the files needed for set up the system and following of some simple, sequential instructions can lead the system to be ready to start within few minutes.

Within the thriving telecommunications sector, healthy competition has been boosted by the hurdle of players. Virgin, BT, AOL, T-mobile, Tiscali, Vodafone, O2, 3 (Three), Orange Broadband all have come up with their claiming of unique service facilities and a host of pre and post paid plans and packages. Choose one that suits you best and get started to experience the online journey of executing business.

It is expected that later this year, the avid admirers of the data on the move theme in the United Kingdom would be able to enjoy the synergistic presentation of the freshly launched iPad of Apple and 3G mobile broadband internet access as a bundle.

Speculation is mounting in the broadband segment of the United Kingdom regarding various mobile broadband providers operating in the country already lobbying for such deals involving the freshly introduced Apple iPad. As a matter of fact, this is highly likely to happen as the mobile broadband and laptop bundle deals has been a great success in the country of late.

The chief executive officer of Carphone Warehouse for the United Kingdom, Andrew Harrison while talking to the Guardian welcomed the Apple iPad launch saying that the thing that amused him was seeing the devices designed very much considering the ways the internet was used by the consumers, rather than as simply a computer, which strove to fit the business consumer.

Harrison added that their perspective was that they played in the connectivity world – particularly mobile connectivity – and the iPad greatly suited the whole range of themes belonging there. He further claimed that the iPad being an extension of the smartphone, it perhaps could do more than just being a smaller computer.

A fresh Apple iPad model comes with both 3G mobile network connectivity and WiFi wireless broadband connectivity that will enable the future consumers of the iPad access broadband services regardless of wherever the person is in the United Kingdom.

The prices of Apple iPad starts from GBP 307 for the model with 16GB data allowance and would be available for purchase by the end of 209 March.

It is a pretty refreshing news for the heaviest of downloaders as well as the downloaders on the go that a new 3G mobile broadband dongle that allows unlimited downloads is being launched next week at CES 2010.

The company based in the United States of America that launches the unique mobile broadband dongle is DataJack. The price the company has fixed for its latest gadget that offers real unlimited high speed 3G data transfer is $39.99 per month.

There is even better news for the heavy downloading customers as it offers sign in – sign out choices for them to enjoy the service for the term that would be liked by them. This in its turn frees the customers from being tied down to expensive long term internet broadband services contracts.

If the voracious customer is not satisfied with that, then the company is also promising more enticing freebies such as no deposits, no early termination charges and no credit check. Here, all the customer has to pay besides the $40 monthly subscription fee, is $99.99 during sign up for the USB modem of DataJack.

Another top up here is a free one month unlimited 3G mobile broadband usage provided to those customers that remain connected to the service for twelve consecutive months. On the other hand the only flip side is that no information has been revealed on the dongle’s UK launch.

In addition to using it as a connection modem, the customer can also use it as a data storage device; all thanks to the microSD slot accommodated by the mobile broadband dongle.

It has been a step closer to the dream of a 150Mbps mobile broadband connection in the United Kingdom as O2 UK carried out its first Long Term Evolution mobile broadband service trial in the country this week.

As a matter of fact, O2, the leading mobile broadband service provider operating in the UK, proved in its trial that the advanced mobile broadband service could enable a maximum download speed of 150Mbps. However, it is understood that the future 4G mobile broadband technology can enable download speeds of as fast as 1Gbps.

The first trial of the next generation mobile broadband technology was carried out in Slough, which is also popular as the spot where the broadband services and phone service provider had set up its headquarters. Incidentally, O2′s parent firm, Telefonica has also conducted LTE pilots in European countries such as Germany, the Czech Republic and Spain and in the Latin American countries such as Argentina and Brazil.

Nonetheless, these figures can definitely be not swallowed as it is to spread the word with a blind faith, as the more likely speeds of around 340Mbps could further slowed down when split among the many future LTE mobile broadband customers that shared the same link.

Meanwhile, Derek McManus, the chief technical officer of O2 UK said that they were only happy for their collaboration with the Chinese hardware giant Huawei on the LTE trial, which would allow them to better conceive the emerging technology, as well as keep them ready for offering their customers next generation LTE mobile broadband providers in the coming days.

Visit broadband suppliers site to find broadband bandwidth calculator and compare broadband offers & packages.
