Carphone Prepare for Demerging and Unveiling New TalkTalk CEO
The mobile phone retail giant of the United Kingdom that owns one of the largest fixed-line broadband internet networks in the country, Carphone Warehouse is all set to announce the chief executive officer for overseeing its broadband division, TalkTalk. The company is also preparing to demerge in March, next year.
This matter was revealed on Friday by Charles Dunstone, the group chief executive at Carphone Warehouse. He said that they have found a chief executive for the TalkTalk broadband division, and have signed the agreement as well. However, he declined to name the person yet as talks were ongoing with the current employer of the arriving executive, on the announcement timing.
Carphone Warehouse that have, besides owning the broadband operations in the United Kingdom of TalkTalk and AOL Broadband, acquired recently the UK assets of Tiscali, is on track to a demerger with Best Buy, the retail giant of the United States that had been partnering Carphone on a 50:50 joint venture.
It is understood that the post split scenario will be highlighted by Dunstone assuming the role of the chairman of both the firms and a new chief executive coming in for Carphone Warehouse plc that could be Roger Taylor, the finance director of the company at present.
