BT’s partnership with UKTV for TV channels

UK’s big ISP, BT has announced that they have signed an agreement with UKTV as a long term deal which will run their existing ten TV channels of Gold, Dave, Alibi, Eden, W, Good Food on the ISPs IPTV network (YouView based) and allows a wide selection of Video-on-Demand content. BT also ensures that their customers will soon get a wider selection of Video on Demand shows which can be watched in HD clarity for the first time using BT TV set-top boxes.

BT’s Content and Business Development Director – Tony Singh said that their partnership with UKTV enables them to provide continuously their customers a wide range of drama, comedy, entertainment and lifestyle channels which their customers love and can be given along with services like Amazon, Netflix and NOW TV to give them more choice of fantastic contents and flexibility.

UKTV’s Chief Commercial Officer – Simon Michaelides said that they are very happy to have continued partnership with BT. Their channnels play an important role for BT TV customers, hence it is a great chance to provide their VoD services where the customers can enjoy watching their favourite channels and shows on HD.

It is to be noted that UKTV also provides their channels and contents to other providers such as Sky TV, Freeview, YouView, TalkTalk, Amazon, Fire, Freesat, Fire and UKTV Play.
