BT FON Wi-fi customers reach 10,000 in the UK
BT FON global wi-fi community has acquired more than 100,000 customers from UK alone, according to the report. The wi-fi community which provides wifi access to its members was established as a joint venture between BT broadband provider and FON, the Argentinean wireless ISP last year. Accordingly, the BT customers who sign up to this service can use their broadband connections to share the wi-fi hotspots of BT FON network.
BT Total broadband customers who are members of BT FON wi-fi community can access more than 3,000 BT Openzone hotspots located in POIs like airports or hotels etc. In addition, BT FON network also provides access to thirteen cities connected by BT wireless service and the global hotspot network (190,000) of FON.
The latest broadband package from BT, BT Total Anywhere allows you to access BT FON network freely, while it also offers BT ToGO, broadband enabled smart phone. The new package comes with a monthly price which is just £5 more than that of BT Total Broadband Option 3.
It should be noted that BT FON wireless service had also bagged the Wireless Broadband Innovation Award (WBI) this year. Both BT and FON were jointly named the most Innovative Wireless Broadband Company.
