April 11, 2008BT and Vodafone joins forces to launch high-speed mobile broadbandBT Wholesale and the major UK mobile phone operator, Vodafone have signed a deal that will enable BT to provide high speed mobile broadband to the UK customers with speeds up to 60 Mbps. Currently various broadband providers offer mobile broadband that include Vodafone, T-mobile and Three etc. Vodafone offers mobile broadband speeds up to 7.2 Mbps which is one of the highest speeds available for the mobile broadband customers in the UK. According to the agreement, BT will use the country-wide network of Vodafone to provide improved speeds for the customers while its upgraded exchanges with 21CN network will enable the mobile broadband service to offer download speeds up to 60 Mbps. Jeni Mundy, the CTO of Vodafone UK said: “By working with BT Wholesale, we are able to realise immediate cost efficiencies and focus on our customers while BT provides a managed service for our growing access and backhaul needs. This agreement supports us in our continued drive to expand our market-leading position in sales of mobile internet and broadband products and services, and positions us to meet growing demand from our customers.” | ||
