BT’s Next Generation Broadband: Hamilton At the Forefront

Last week, BT had announced that all its broadband and phone lines in the Hamilton town were now readied to be upgraded to the ISP’s next generation broadband services, over the 21CN (twenty first century network) platform of BT. This will lead Hamilton to the forefront of the next generation broadband revolution visualized by the UK government.

4709It has been made clear by BT that the fresh equipment installed by it would allow above 13,700 lines in the Hamilton town to be upgraded, marking the multi-billion pound investment across Britain in the most augmented global communications platform in the world. This can carry data, voice and video-on-demand, apart from broadband services.

This network is expected to give the customer increased choice and flexibility, apart from an increased number of features. Besides, it also enables the internet service providers to introduce a range of fresh services.

According to the director of BT Scotland Brendan Dick, Hamilton town was one of the first major communities in Britain to achieve this coverage levels. He added that it was a vital milestone for the town and it was tremendous to be the part of an exciting as well as leading project in the world.

Mr Dick also said that majority of the foundations were now game for offering the new generation broadband services, although the companies who offer the services would take a bit of time obviously to introduce the fresh products.
