Broadband Customer Base of a Million for BT
BT, recently achieved a target that was set by them in 2003 by signing up one million people for its high speed broadband service in this summer. Its chief executive Ben Verwaayen who fixed the target last year has declared the feat as a milestone for its ADSL broadband network in a detailed statement released a couple of days back.
The company is planning to mark the achievement by bettering its services offered in the areas of the UK that does not have access to the service. Nearly 69 exchanges are allowed for a better performance than an earlier version did.
Verwaayen claimed that hitting the target was a great achievement. He also said that UK, which was known as one of the most competitive broadband sector in the world, has proved its mettle by achieving the feat of one million customers through the phone lines of about a hundred broadband suppliers.
British Telecoms have also affirmed that they will give business and home broadband connection, free of cost to the customers by increasing the headline speed of its services.
BT is known for its huge majority in British fixed line telephones. They own and run telephone exchanges, local loop connections and trunk network. BT’s other business divisions are BT Openworld: BT Internet provider, BT Global Services: Business services and solutions, BT Retail: Retail telecoms, BT Wholesale: Wholesale telecoms network and BT Exact: Research and Development.
