Broadband Consumers in the UK Rate Reliability above Speed

HU017229A significant research carried out over a base of 4,000 broadband consumers in the United Kingdom, brought to light the high priority given to reliability of their broadband connections by the customers in the UK, rather than to the broadband internet speeds they received.

Out of the 4000 broadband consumers queried across the country, a convincing 44 per cent suggested that reliability was their major concern. It is all the more interesting that the majority of the voters voted for reliability above value for money as well.

The research was conducted by a pro-broadband website Broadband Choices. Other views of the consumers that sprung up in the research were; the belief of 47 per cent of respondents that their broadband providers had not lived up to the promises and the disgruntled moaning of a 70 per cent that their ISPs had lied to them on the connection speeds.

A spokesperson of the website commented that it was surprising to see the customers of broadband networks valuing reliability of their connection ahead of customer satisfaction, broadband connection speeds or even value for money.

He added that it was equally troubling to recognise that about half the total broadband consumers, even after the completion of the ninth year after broadband was introduced in the UK for the first time, claimed that the services of the ISPs had not lived up to their expectations.

The research saw that 34 per cent of the total respondents voted for the connection speeds as 24 per cent of them voted for value for money.
