Britain’s Fastest Broadband Town is Bournemouth
A research carried out by one of the popular broadband comparison websites catering for the people of United Kingdom has suggested that the fastest broadband service in the United Kingdom has been enjoyed by the residents of Bournemouth.
The research team claimed that they had compiled around 200,000 tests for broadband speed conducted by its website users in more than 2,600 postcodes across the United Kingdom, over the past couple of months, based on which it had discovered that the top broadband service in terms of speed was enjoyed by Bournemouth. The study revealed that Bournemouth enjoyed an average downstream speed of more than 8Mbps.
The revelation is significant as 8Mbps speed is almost double the national average download speed. It is also worth pondering over the fact that such as speed can download a full movie in about 100 minutes and a music album in around six minutes.
The seaside town of Dorset, as a matter of fact, is blessed with broadband internet speeds of more than 1Mbps faster than that enjoyed by some of the largest cities in the United Kingdom such as Birmingham and Manchester, according to the research team.
With an average download speed of 6.38Mbps, Edinburgh was found to be the top rated Scottish city, although it could only manage the fourteenth place on the all UK list. Swansea was found to be the fastest city in Wales with 6.20Mbps average speeds and 19th place on the list.
