Best 10 UK ISP List for Dec 2009 unveiled

Fastest UK ISPThe latest routine short term broadband speed check results by Broadband UK, for the month of December 2009 has been published. According to this, the average download speed of the United Kingdom – delivered by the various internet service providers operating in the country – has gone through a slight increase.

As a matter of fact, the results showed that the average downstream speed delivered by the broadband providers in the United Kingdom has increased from 4.367 Mbps in November 2009 to the current status of 4.478 Mbps.

Meanwhile, it is a refreshing news for the cable broadband admirers in the country that the cable broadband giant, Virgin Media has retained its position as the speediest broadband provider for downloads. The ISP had increased its average download speed to 7.426 Mbps in December 2009, from its November’s achievement of 7.214Mbps.

The second place, meanwhile, has been secured by a teamwork of O2 and Be Broadband that sticked on to its top speed achievement of 5.143 Mbps in November. However, for its remarkable upload performance of 0.753 Mbps, O2 remains the fastest broadband provider for the fastest upstream rates in the UK.

On the advantage part, the fact that has been brought to light by the results that a 22 per cent increase has been experienced by the United Kingdom in its average broadband speeds could be attributed to the adoption of the advanced ADSL2+ and cable modem based broadband internet technology.
