Be launch broadband speed tool

Be has launched its own broadband speed estimator tool for its customers who can now access it when they visit the home page of the broadband provider. As connection speeds sometimes significantly differ from the advertised speeds, the speed tool will enable the broadband users to know the broadband speeds they are actually getting via their broadband connections.

It should be noted that the UK telecom regulator Ofcom has long been insisting the broadband providers to come transparent with the connection speeds they are offering. On most occasions, the broadband speeds are affected by the factors like line quality and how far the premises of the broadband customers are away from the local exchange etc. However, the regulatory norms released by Ofcom in June instruct the providers to let their customers know what speeds they are actually getting. Often, the advertised speeds come with the prefix upto which often misleads the broadband customers as far as the actual speeds are concerned, according to the UK telecom regulator.

Felix Geyr, the managing director of Be broadband provider, said:
“We feel it is a step in the right direction for the broadband industry to cut through customers confusion and improve customer trust in their services,”

Be broadband customers can now know the speeds they are getting using this speed estimator tool. Be is one of the UK broadband providers that offer high speed broadband packages (24Mbps download speeds) to their customers and the new tool will help them to compare their connection speeds with other ISPs who are yet to improve their speeds, according to Be.

“Be Broadband offers the fastest broadband in the UK according to many independent sources and now broadband customers will see just how much faster Be Broadband service is compared to other ISP providers.”

Be Pro, the fastest, unlimited broadband packages from Be offers 24Mbps download speed and 2.5Mbps upload speed and is an ideal package for heavy internet users and small businesses. Be Unlimited broadband package also providers 24Mbps downstream speed and unlimited downloads. With Be broadband, the customers get Be Box wireless router which comes with ADSL+2 compatibility, Ethernet switch, 54 megs 802.11 b/g wireless interface and one analog backup.
