November 13, 2007Be customers grew by 24 percentThe ADSL+2 broadband provider Be saw its customer base zooming to 38,400 from 31,000 by the quarter ended on 30 September 2007, according to the press release from Telefonica O2, the Spanish company which owns Be. O2 has recently launched its own broadband whose performance was not assessed in the report. Based on the report, O2 UK, the UK division of O2 had 9 percent revenue growth while its Ireland division witnessed total revenues growing at a rate of 4.3 percent. Revenue growth in UK also includes the contributions by both mobile and broadband services of O2. Be, the subsidiary of O2 unbundled 814 exchanges and its network has penetrated half of the UK population. Recently, Be reduced the monthly cost of its three packages and removed the monthly cap of all packages. Its Be lite is one of the best entry level packages available for just £14 per month. Be also offers a Be Box wireless modem with all its packages. O2 entered UK broadband industry by launching its 16 meg and 20 Meg packages in mid-October. O2 has announced that its O2 Pay Monthly customers will pay just £7.50 per month to get up to 8 meg package and £10 per month for the premium package which offers 16 meg speed. Other customers will have to pay an extra £10 per month. O2 broadband division in UK aims to target potential customers in cities during initial phase, as per the report. | ||
