Avanti HYLAS Satellite Getting Ready

The communications group, Avanti Communications has confirmed the safety arrival of Avanti’s Hylas (Highly Adaptable Satellite) payload at the ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization). This broadband satellite has been designed to deliver broadband internet and data network services to the users in Europe, and it is currently being preparing for launch after getting integrated into the platform.

The satellite operating company said in its statement that the primary payload panel would be integrated successfully within a few days after the commencement of work. This hint in the statement makes it clear that the satellite is scheduled to be catapulted into the space in 2010 by the second quarter.

Avanti Communications‘ chief executive officer David Williams meanwhile commented that he was pleased to inform that the HYLAS has reached the last phase of assembly.

He further said that there was a demand in the market for broadband satellite and every month  it was getting stronger. Williams points to the contract wins by the satellite broadband company in the recent times to substantiate his view.

In the select committee enquiry carried out this week marking the government consensus, it came to light that Avanti is delivering a highly valued and much required service across Europe.  Recently Avanti Communications announced its striking a  partnership with the satellite equipment supplier Hughes Network Systems.
