3D TV Sports Coverage planned by Sky
Definitely one of the leading internet service providers operating in the United Kingdom that bundles TV with their broadband packages, if not the leading, Sky Broadband has been reportedly planning to offer its digital TV and broadband subscribers the opportunity to enjoy 3D coverage of the best sports event later in the year.
Tis news was reported by the popular UK news portal the Daily Mail. The newspaper further gave that Sky was all set to broadcast the Barclays Premier League Football action live in the format prior to the end of this year, via its upcoming 3D TV structure.
It is understood that trialling of the new technology has already been carried out by the broadband provider on an array of sports coverage, including boxing, golf and cricket.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports’ director of operations, Darren Long has said while talking to the newspaper that they had spent more than eighteen months recording 3D material, and sports worked quite well. According to him, sports being all about emotion, enjoying it in 3D added to the experience.
Long added that it was quiet entertaining during the trials to see the amazed expression on the face of even the most cynical person.
However, the broadband provider is yet to officially announce the launch date of its 3D TV sports package, although it has been revealed by the ISP that fresh TV sets from the likes of Samsung, Panasonic and LG would be more than compatible with their 3D platform.Find broadband comparison deals, offers and checkout exclusive broadband availability checker.
