3D Digital TV Channel will be launched by Sky in April
Sky, the leading broadband and digital TV bundle providers operating in the United Kingdom has confirmed that it would allow its broadband TV subscribers to enjoy the provider’s eagerly-anticipated 3D TV channel from April this year.
As a matter of fact, the TV broadband provider has revealed that since its programming was primarily focusing on Premier League live content every week, initially it would only be providing service to the hundreds of pubs in the country.
Subsequently, the channel will be launched for household customers, which would coincide the reaching of 3D Ready television sets in the consumer market. The owners of the existing Sky+ high definition set-top boxes can access the channel using it.
The service is set to be previewed at 9 pubs across the United Kingdom that are specially chosen for this in the weekend, as part of a virtual trial. This means the nine selected pubs will witness Sky showing the Manchester vs Arsenal live match of the Premier League in the 3D format.
The chief executive officer of Sky, Jeremy Darroch said that the company has always innovated to provide its customers with the optimal viewing experience, for which this time too they intended to take the lead in realising the spectacle of the 3D TV concept in the UK and Ireland.
