Demon Broadband
Demon Internet
Demon Internet is one of the UK’s earliest internet service providers. In addition to consumer & business broadband services, Demon also offers security, hosting, data and voice services. Demon broadband packages come with good speeds and unlimited downloads, and are highly recommended for professionals and businesses.
Broadband Features
Demon has been a favorite among users with specific technical requirements in the field of business. There is no installation charges involved for 12 month contracts. You may use your existing BT phone lines and pay the line rentals. Demon does not supply hardware and you will have to fetch your own modem or router. Demon’s home office packages come with a static IP address.
Speeds and Data Caps
While there has been a considerable change in the data allowance or bandwidth offered by other leading ISP’s in the market, there has not been much from Demon on these lines. Demon’s home broadband packages come with speeds ranging from 8 Mbit/s to 20 Mbit/s and data caps of 50 GB or 60 GB per month.
Excess Usage Fee
Demon does not charge for excess usage but you can expect to see a steep drop in the speed, to as low as 128 Kbit/s during the peak hours between 9am and 11pm.
Demon Internet – History and Current Market Status
Founded in 1992, Demon is one of the UK’s oldest ISP’s. After the company was bought by THUS in 1998, Demon has become a part of the Cable & Wireless businesses.
While Demon was a techie’s choice, a cornerstone for several media and web businesses in recent past, the company is being just average scorer in the current broadband market.
Demon provides broadband and online services for businesses, homes and home-offices. The company has taken advantage of the technological revolution in field of broadband – ADSL2 and is offering its customers good speeds of up to 16Mb.
