    About TalkTalk Broadband Provider

TalkTalk, the ISP owned by the Carphone Warehouse introduced free broadband with its international call plans at a time when broadband services were not considered too cheap to consider.

With its claim as the provider of the cheapest telephony service in the UK and the growing popularity for its free broadband service, TalkTalk made a number of customers to switch to its free broadband deals during the last two years. In addition, the free one month trial offer is also available for the new customers who can either continue or cancel the service upon their preference.

    History
TalkTalk, currently,  the main competitor to BT’s telecom service was launched in February 2003. Starting as a provider of fixed lines in the UK, TalkTalk grew rapidly and offered services that helped the ISP to earn great reputation as one of the cheapest ISPs in UK. Currently, TalkTalk has one-tenths of phone users on its vast telecom network.

TalkTalk call plans with free broadband were placed on top of all offers and voted as the best packages offering both "Overall customer satisfaction" and "Value for money" according to a report released by uswitch in 2006.

Currently, TalkTalk offers its free broadband service only to those who are in its local loop line network which has penetrated more than 70 percent of households in the UK. With the rental as low as  £10.50, the TalkTalk call plans with free broadband are among the cheap broadband deals available in the UK.

In October, 2006, the Carphone Warehouse acquired TalkTalk and AOL, thus becoming the third largest ISP in the UK broadband market.
