Wireless Broadband supported by Audi A8 Prototype

The leading global car manufaturer, Audi has reportedly developed a full-function prototype of their Audi A8 luxury saloon that boasts of broadband internet. This news has been reported by Auto Evolution website.

Audi had developed this new in car wireless internet function by teaming up with the leading mobile data device technology giant, Alcatel Lucent.

It is understood that the partnership would be delivering in-car wireless broadband service that boasts of data speeds of up to 100Mbps that is more or less similar to the speeds delivered by a fixedline broadband connection.

According to Carpages UK, another website, the news means that the passengers in the Audi A8 Prototype can stream or download high definition videos, music and other data over up to six tablets (computers) or mobile devices conviniently.

An Audi press release revealed that, with such connection speeds of its, the Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology offers more reliable and dynamic wireless internet access, especially when massive amounts of data are required to be downloaded or uploaded.
