The WiMAX broadband pioneer, FREEDOM4 has joined hands with Warwickshire College to expand their wireless broadband services in the Warwick area, according to the report. The wireless ISP will also work in association with Konnex Networks to provide value added services at lowest cost to the individuals and businesses in areas like Leamington Spa and Warwick using WiMAX technology.

Brendan O’Rourke of FREEDOM4 said:

"We are delighted to have teamed up with Warwickshire College and see the partnership as an important step in the development of our offering in the local area. Education is a sector that we feel can really gain from having WiMAX and are looking forward to working together for the benefit of the local community."

Meanwhile, all the three partners who have teamed up for this project have organized a function at the Trident Technology and Business Centre in Warwick a couple of days ago with an aim to provide information to the businesses and the public on WiMAX broadband technology, uses, advantages and benefits of this fast growing communication technology.

Chris Elliot, Chief Executive of Warwick District Council has commented:

"As an acknowledged excellent Council, we work hard to offer a first class service, at lowest cost to the taxpayer. As part of delivering our many and varied public services, technology plays an increasingly important role. It is within this context that we have embraced the use of WiMAX in our work, especially for home and mobile workers. The Council is please to see how these benefits are now being made readily available to business communities, the voluntary sector and local residents across the District."
