Wi-Fi broadband
Andrews and Arnold (AAISP), the broadband providers found a possible loophole in the digital economy act which might urge people open up Wi-Fi Hotspots instead of discouraging them. Under the act, there exist a threat that proprietors of public Wi-Fi networks may face legal proceeding or disconnection incase a stranger uses the network illegally for downloading. Nevertheless, AAISP say that public should inform their internet providers that they wish to acquire UK broadband service as a communication provider preferably than a subscriber.
The director of the firm, Adrian Kennard expressed "Now you have done that you are not a endorser as defined by the Digital Economy Act 2010. But as you have no statement with the public for them to use the Wi-Fi hence you are not a service provider either. So you do not have filthy responsibilities under the Act either." However people are warned with legal action, they do have an excuse since tey are running a public network added Mr. Kennard
