HSPA wireless broadband to have 88 percent coverage in 2008
Wireless broadband is set to witness remarkable growth in the near future, according to the report from Analysys Mason, the broadband analyst. The report reveals that the wireless broadband connections will cross 2.1bn and the revenues from wireless broadband services will touch £395 billion by the end of 2015. As for the wireless broadband technologies, LTE and HSPA are increasingly used by the operators while WiMAX is expected to see slower growth due to these rival technologies. The report says: The report further points out HSPA wireless technology is poised to see faster growth with a coverage of 88 per cent wireless broadband internet users by the end of 2008 and will continue to be the market leader for several years to come The report further says: "Despite the increasing availability of LTE and Wimax, HSPA and HSPA+ will still support 54 per cent of wireless broadband users by the end of 2015."
"LTE will take off relatively slowly, but its customer base will reach 440 million by 2015, with associated revenue of $194 billion (£97 billion)."
