VoIP services add value to broadband internet packages

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) or broadband telephony has been increasingly becoming a part of broadband package as it offers cheaper option to the broadband customers for making calls to international destinations. Traditional phone services often prove to be much expensive for the heavy phone users, in particular, those who regularly make international calls. It should be noted that these value added services played an important role in getting more revenue for the internet providers. For instance, according to the report from Point Topic, the broadband providers worldwide offer value added services worth (£14.6 billion a year to their customers. The impressive year-on-year growth in these services is indicated by 62 % growth in revenues during 2006-2007.
