Vodafone UK wipes off roaming charges in 40 countries

Sunday, May 8th 2016

UK's major mobile operator, Vodafone, has introduced a "worry-free inclusive roaming" benefit for customers while in 40 destinations worldwide. Customers practically get roaming charges wiped off as Vodafone allows related customers receive unlimited calls, texts or picture messages and even data allowance of up to 4GB monthly, offered across the inclusive roaming zone, that includes 40 destinations that are mostly in the EU and neighbouring states. Customers can also enjoy 4G across 93 destinations around the world.

The benefit is for, both new and existing customers upgrading, taking up the 'Pay Monthly Red' (12-24 months) and 'Red Value' mobile tariffs, but not for the SIM-only 30-day plan and mobile roaming bundles. It may be recollected that roaming charges have been capped across the EU, as of last week, to be locked at €0.05 per minute for outgoing calls. Whereas, it is at €0.05 per MB for data and €0.02 for text messages. The cap applies to all nations in the EU, including Norway and Liechtenstein, but excludes Switzerland. This cap comes ahead of the full ban agreed, from 15th June of next year, on roaming charges.
