Vodafone to Offer 200 New Retail Jobs in the UK
Vodafone UK confirmed yesterday that the fifty sites announced by it last year for the expansion programme of the retail stores, have been secured presently. Vodafone also confirmed that roll out has been going on since September, as forty fresh stores nationwide are already serving customers. The ten stores that remain, would also be opened in a very short time, according to the broadband ISP. To take part in the programme, Vodafone asks for no prerequisites. Till date, above 1250 employees have come up to sign up. The programme consists of six different levels that collectively equate four A-Levels and fifteen GCSE levels. Vodafone UK's director of sales Tom Devine has stated that they had worked out a plan in August to increase the number of stores that in turn would offer their customers increased oppportunity to gain upfront help, which could be anything ranging from an advice on what was new in mobile broadband technology to technical help or clearance of bill related doubts.
The new on-going expansion programme of retail stores by Vodafone wouls take their total tally of stores to four hundred. In total, these retail stores of Vodafone would approximately add an additional retail space of 3155 square metres, apart from creating a couple of hundred extra advisor posts. An NVQ training programme was launched by Vodafone in March last year that was open to all retail employees, and paid for by the company itself.
