Vodafone Roaming Charges Stepped Up

Vodafone has stepped up its roaming charges for its customers, according to a report in the Telegraph. The broadband supplier has mentioned that the new prices will be beneficial to light-users, or those who use less than 5MB of data when abroad. However, heavy users might find it heavy on their pockets. The new prices are to take effect from June 15 2010.

The initial rates stand as follows:-
















Within Europe Outside Europe
£5 a day for 25MB of data £15 per day for 25MB
£10 a day for 50MB £30 per day for 50MB


The revised rates stand as follows:-















Within Europe Outside Europe
£1 per MB for the first 5MB £3 per MB for the first 5MB
£5 per 5MB after that £15 per 5MB after that


For laptop dongles, the rates are as follows:-















Within Europe Outside Europe
£10 for the first 50MB £30 for the first 50MB
£10 per 50MB after this £30 per 50MB after this


Customers will reportedly be kept well informed about the amount of data used up, so they can keep a tab on their downloads.
