UK to witness Vodafone WiFi Cradle and MiFi Unit Launch

Wednesday, February 17th 2010

It was at the Barcelona mobile world congress that the prominent mobile broadband service providers operating in the United Kingdom, Vodafone had exibhited both their WiFi cradle and MiFi unit with a promise that they would be launched in the United Kingdom, in the next two months.

For those who are a bit late on MiFi, this is nothing but a device, which sets up a wireless connection for mobile broadband much similar to a wirelss router's services for fixed-line broadband connections. The small device promoted by Vodafone replaces a mobile broadband dongle and easily slips in the pocket with its built-in SIM.

Vodafone boasts that the battery life of their freshly launched device is longer than the average laptop computer at about four hours. Howerver, the most significant aspect of the device is that it can potentially connect several users to the internet at one time.

A cradle is considered as another way for the customer to get his wireless broadband internet connection shared. This device promoted by Vodafone offers a vital way to share a customer's mobile broadband signal with around five other devices or users.

A WiFI mobile broadband cradle is deemed as a great solution for people that already own a mobile broadband dongle, or require the choice between wireless or plugged-in services.
