VirginMedia Provides Fibre Broadband at 531 Postcodes
Fresh figures suggest that the predominant cable broadband provider in the United Kingdom, Virgin Media UK provided broadband service through its fibre optic cabling at 531 UK postcodes. The research that brought forth the figures was carried out by a pro broadband website Cable.co.UK. Thirty nine post codes of the 531 toatal postcodes served currently by Virgin Media, enjoyed comprehensive access, as around 260 post codes enjoyed at least 80 percent connectivity. The research reports also suggested that more than 90 percent of Sussex web users who had been making inquiries, could sign up for the fibre broadband service. Virgin Media UK ISP that has been under constant pressure to deliver the next-generation broadband network speeds, faces cutthroat competition from BT that is also investing in a pan-UK superfast fibre optic broadband network.
According to the research undertaken by the website, a set of 5000 fresh customers have signed up for the broadband supplier’s superfast fibre optic broadband service during this year’s second quarter. Besides, the research also found out that the total UK customer-base of the cable broadband provider was fast approaching four million.
