The popular broadband and TV provider of the United Kingdom, Sky has reportedly launched a legal challenge against the broadband honestly advertising campaign of Virgin Media, complaining that the adverts were grossly misleading.

Lawyers that were representing the satellite broadbcasting firm have as per reports invoked the advertising watchdog of the United Kingdom, ASA(Advertising Standards Authority) to run a probe into the Stop the Broadband Con internet advertising campaign of Virgin Media.

Sky in its letter to the ASA, according to the Telegraph, claimed that the advertising campaign had wrongly implied that certain broadband providers were deceiving the consumers dishonestly.

The letter had also flayed the advertsements of Virgin Media posten on YouTube parodying the Fairytales advert campaign of Sky, saying learn from Aladdin------do not get conned this Christmas.

The legal representatives of Sky, Osborne Clarke said that the advertisements provided the implication that although Sky would be delivering the customer a superfast broadband service, that would be stuck in the slow lane as well.
