Virgin Media UK ISP to get Tougher on Heavy Broadband Users

Virgin Media broadband provider has disclosed that it was all set to target only the two percent of customers who were at the top regarding uploading/downloading data during peak times, with its broadband Traffic Management Policy. Until now, the ISP has been targeting the top five percent.


 


Virgin Media LogoThe current system had only recently had enhanced its flexibility, and the exact details on how the modifications would affect the current system was largely obscure. It is widely believed that the rest of the users would be treated with a softer policy, as the targeted 2 percent's fate could be tougher.


 


According to the reports on The Register, the customers who came in the heaviest bracket regarding usage, were likely to receive a message from the UK ISP, advising them to curb their usage.
