Virgin Media to complete network upgrade by middle of 2012

According to ‘Virgin Media’, 25% of the UK or 6.5 million homes have 100 Mb/sec broadband. It plans to cover 50% of the population by middle of 2012 with fibre based 100 Mb broadband. Jon James of Virgin Media is proud to be entrusted with the task for the country. He wants to go further by trialling 200 Mb/sec. 1.5 GB cable broadband trial has already been taken up by the company in East London. Virgin Media has also been upgrading upload bandwidth free of charge for their current customers opting for 100 Mb service. They will get 10 Mbps upload speed.
