A statement from mobiles giant Motorola says that its cutting edge technology will be helping the UK ISP Virgin Media to realise their dreams of an ultra speed broadband roll out. Beside, Virgin Media has also signed a deal with the German firm with a view to enhance its choice of internet connections. Following this move, it is expected that the bandwidth would be considerably increased, security will be boosted and finally the evolution of a triple play package in the form of ultra broadband data, voice and video services will be taking place. The chosen connections of the Virgin Media to be engaged by Motorola for a speed increase will be Integrated CMTS BSR 64000 solution that works on a DOCSIS 3.0 platform.
Joe Cozzolino, Motorola's senior vice president for Home and Networks Mobility says that more and more internet service providers around the world intending to optimise the availability of bandwidth with a view to roll out ultra broadband services were approaching the company, for its deep DOCSIS 3.0 delivering experience in the industry.
At present, Virgin Media offers up to 50Mbps download speeds in the United Kingdom through its fibre optic network. Moreover, it is also trialling its advanced 200Mbps connection in Kent through DOCSIS 3.0 technology.
