Virgin Media launches 10Mbps Broadband in Hinckley
Reports say that the leading cable broadband provider operating in the United Kingdom, Virgin Media has launched its 100Mbps fibre optic broadband internet service in Hinckley.
According to a report published in the Hinckley Times, the first area in the Midlands to have access to the broadband service is the town, which would now enjoy maximum speeds almost twenty times speedier than the average UK figure of 5.2Mbits recorded in 2010 May by Ofcom.
According to the cable giant, the subscribers would be allowed by the premium fibre optic broadband product to download HD movies in approximately 7 minutes and television shows in around 30 seconds.
Jon James, Virgin Media's executive director for broadband claimed that the Hinckley residents would be blown away by the connection speeds delivered by their 100Mbps fibre optic broadband product.
James added that the launch of their 100Mbps fibre broadband internet service in Hinckley was an important milestone in the broadband evolution of the United Kingdom and a clear illustration of their next generation network's power.
