Virgin Media intends to wind up activities in Westminster
It has been confirmed that ‘Virgin Media’ broadband and Television users of Westminster will have to look for alternate service provider. Virgin Media has been trying to upgrade its analogue system in Central London for the last ten years but without success. As digital technology is fast becoming popular, the service provider has decided to withdraw from Westminster entirely. The current broadband service and analogue TV connections will not be there beyond January 2012. Virgin Media is using the BT’s equipment and distribution system to cater to the needs of Westminster. Hence it is unable to provide the facilities to the consumers at its option or at its rate. It is contacting the consumers and enlightens them about its limitations and to request them to look for alternate arrangements. Virgin Media will fully cooperate with them to have a change over. However, Virgin Media will go ahead with its network expansion in other parts of the UK. In fact it has taken measures to complete the installation work in Southampton as early as possible.
