Virgin Media customers face problems related to email servers
Lately, Virgin Media customers faced problems in receiving their emails as the ISP’s e-mail servers were affected by technical difficulties, the recent report says. Virgin Media which was involved in shifting its email clients to the email platform of Microsoft met with technical problems which led to the present crisis. Many Virgin customers could not send or receive emails while the process of migrating its servers to new platform is set to continue for another fortnight, as per the report.
Meanwhile, Virgin Media assured its customers that the problem will be fixed up by soon as it has already sought the help of Microsoft in this regard. It is found that the problem has been persistent right from the first week of February and was affecting over one-tenths of customers who were subscribed to Telewest, Virgin Media said in its statement.
Alex Brown of Virgin Media said:
"It's not been a good week and of course we apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.
While we're still working on both issues, service should be improved now [not saying all's sorted!] and the key focus for us is to push on with the Exchange 2003 migration - and we have some additional resource being allocated to try to speed things up as much as we can.
I hope the above is of interest and adds some context as to what's been happening recently."
