Virgin Media will be hosting on the 17th and 18th July, UK's first Destiny 2 gameplay event, the giant ISP has announced. The event in collaboration with Activision and Bungie, will take place at a secret location in central London, a little before the official beta starts off on PS4 gaming consoles.

Customers subscribed to Virgin Media Vivid Gamer, get the chance to attend the event by entering into a competition, through their Facebook and Twitter channels, or on their website. Lucky participants will be treated with Destiny-themed surprises, when they get involved in Virgin Fibre X Destiny 2: The Beta Experience. Virgin Media has designed the Vivid Gamer broadband service with gaming companies. It offers superfast speeds of up to 220 Mbps on download and up to 20 Mbps on upload.

Kerris Bright, Virgin Media's Chief Marketing Officer, said whether playing alone or playing with friends, or making new friends, the best gameplay needs the best broadband. Vivid Gamer customers gain even more when Virgin Media is teaming up with Bungie and Activision, powered on an ultrafast network, Kerris Bright remarked. The launch of Destiny 2 is due on 8th September for PS4 and Xbox One consoles. For the first time later this year, a version for PC will follow soon after.
