Severe Breakup in Supply of Virgin Media Broadband connectivity
It was reported that people subscribing to the Virgin Media Broadband found that their services were drastically disrupted for about three full hours on the 17th of January.
ISpreview.co.uk reported that Virgin Media, one of the major broadband providers suffered severe network interruption that created quite a problem for their users throughout the UK.
People started complaining first around 17.00 GMT and it was not until 20.00GMT that services were back to normal.
According to a statement issued by Virgin Media it said that if anyone had found that their Internet connectivity had been disrupted, the company had themselves were experiencing a nationwide breakdown of services during that period. However they stated that this issue had since then been set right.
They also suggested that in spite of things getting back to normal, those who had not been able to get reconnected to the Internet, they should try switching off their router for about five minutes and then switching it back on and that tit would help re-establish the broadband connectivity.
The company sincerely apologized for the problems that their customers had to face due to the outage they suffered.
This breakdown in supply was the newest hitch that the firm had to deal with that week. In fact this followed an inadvertent email that had been sent to their lower-value subscribers that they would soon be able to avail of upgrades of up to 120MB speeds. Actually this was a mistake as these subscribers were not really eligible for the upgrade.
It was only people who had registered for Virgin Media’s 50Mb and 100Mb rates who would have been entitled for the upgrade. People who had registered for the 10Mb, 20Mb and 30Mb would have their speeds correspondingly upgraded two fold to 20MBb 40Mb and 60Mb.
