The Virgin Media, one of the leading network operators in the UK is taking steps to improve the broadband network in Brighton and Hove when it received innumerable speed complaints from its customers.

The operator has announced the broadband network capacity in the area will be improved with in the next four months. A spokesman from the company told Argus that in the south coast city, the Virgin Media broadband users would be able to access a fair share of the available spectrum once the improvements are carried out.

An inside information says that the complaints about the slow broadband speed at peak hours from the Brighton and Hove is due to the heavy use of the bands by a small group of users.

The service received by other subscribers in the locality is hampered by this heavy use by this group. To avoid these complaints the company is upgrading the broadband network in the locality. The rollout work has already started and the customers could see the benefits with in a few weeks.

It is interesting to note that last November Virgin Media has announced that one third of the UK has been covered by its ultra-fast 100 Mbps fibre optic broadband service, while in January 2012 customers in Brighton and Hove are making hue and cry over the slow speed. However the company is going to start a programme aiming to double the top speeds currently available to more than 4 million subscribers.
