Any technical service is bound to have problems. For example, the broadband service has limitation. Low speeds, disconnection, interruption and so on are bound to be annoying for the users.

Sometimes unavoidable things take place. For example, think of an instance when the rats eat away the fiber cables. One can imagine the inconvenience caused to the customers and the amount of time it takes to rectify the fault.

Apart from that there are frequent electricity power failures and technical faults at the telephone exchanges.

But the most alarming thing is when the service provider is aware of the disruption but does nothing to set it right. That is what is happening to the consumers of Norwich for the last two months. Virgin Media, their service provider has not taken the necessary action at the appropriate time. Yet it claims that everything is resolved already.

Some customers have complained that their complaints even as early as in August are not attended to. Bur Virgin Media has different opinion.

One domestic customer Matthew Katos remarked that there has been malfunctioning of the system since March. Whenever contacted the provider only gives excuses. Shirking of responsibility by the provider is something the subscribers cannot tolerate.

The fact is that there are too many customers for the service provider and so the company is unable to manage. It is overloaded.

A spokesperson Virgin Media remarked that there are heavy demands in certain particular hours of the day. That disrupts the service. The company has decided to undertake a major up gradation which will set things right. The upgrade will ensure better bandwidth and the customers requirement will be fulfilled. The work will be completed before the end of the year. Even 100 Mb broadband will then be available.

Virgin Media, in the meantime, will also go ahead with the repair works to satisfy the affected customers. However the customers feel that it remains to be seen.
