Net Neutrality Upheld by Broadband Rivalry
Network provider Virgin Media claims that aggressive rivalry between suppliers of broadband services would aid in protecting the standards of net neutrality.
The executive Director of Broadband at Virgin Media, Mr. Jon James stated that as the various broadband providers compete with one another to enhance their respective subscribers, there is not much worry about the broadband suppliers trying to strangle broadband connectivity.
Net neutrality, which is the code by which all traffic in broadband is treated on par has always been and unwritten law on the Internet.
Nevertheless, Recombu seems to have reported that there are certain broadband providers in the US who have commenced charging more from the subscribers for prioritized services.
Mr. James stated that in the United Kingdom, there was stiff competition provided everyone subscribing to the broadband services knew what would occur and what would not happen and he also remarked that what would happen would be the basis of the level of rivalry.
He mentioned that the Virgin Media Network system was only shaping the traffic so as to make certain that the customers always had excellent experiences, even during peak hours.
Providers like Be Broadband promoted their broadband packages like they were not at all stifled, by which they implied that all information was treated uniformly.
